Some dreadnoughts for the deathwatch this time and I think possibly the first time I have made a box dreadnought model ever

Hobby progress 23rd April 2017

Back on to the death watch to finish them off and have a slight break from the sight of mk3 marines
On the building table now is a black star flyer

8th thinking 💭 🤔

So GW dropped the video and the FAQ about 8th ed today and the internet went crazy as the internet normally does with change when they don't have the whole piece of the picture to look at and judge from an unbalanced look


I'm looking forward to seeing what it's all about and then losing my shit and writing crap on the internet.
It was good that they brought out the FAQ and said to everyone stop buying the army books 📚
Because the last thing you want to do is what I did when it went from 5th - 6th is buy the book a week before the edition change and be left with basically a good amount of paper to start a fire with.

Also saying all forge world units will be covered is good as I have a slight resin addiction and a secret project in the working

30K, now that was another big one. How will this new edition effect the more gentlemen game that I'm starting to really love
They said basically, they aren't touching it and we can carry on using 7th ed rules
With a few minor tweaks by the community such as multi bombing then we are all good and can stop proclaiming the sky is falling

Hobby progress 18th April 2017

Bit of change from a week of alpha legion and getting around to finishing off the deathwatch I have with me and a standard rhino with some really nice forgeworld doors and front place

Now time to bulk out the veteran squads with normal guys with bolters and I've done this
15 made and ready

3rd update for today and assault weapons for my veteran squads and this means plasma guns and meltaguns

A lot done so far and more because it's Easter so a nice early finish an BBQ at work today, here's a couple updates today 😀

First off a heavy weapons squad that doesn't have "heavy" weapons
5 heavy Flamers so a burning surprise
Or they will go in my veteran squads when I'm running marksmen, because who doesn't like heavy Flamers with the sniper special rule

Nice and easy to put together
I do love how the plastic kits have come out from GW and it's made the 30K hobby more open as my first 30K army is all resin

Another great building session and more veterans, this time combi plasma guns. Aiming with these for primarchs killing for taking out large monsters
Still waiting on a command parts for them with the need for the sergeant head and nuncio vox

First 10 of the 90 I have with me are done
All armed with combi flamers

Making good progress and the mk3 plastic kit is really easy to use
First bunch of the 90 i have is 10 vets with combi Flamers because who doesn't like the mix of "sniper" special rules and flamer templates

Good start to my veterans from the prospero box set

30 of them to start with in this batch containing combi weaponed armed vets

10 flamer
10 meltas
10 plasma


Then
10 seekers
5 with heavy Flamers
10 sergeants
5 with melta guns
5 with plasma guns
10 with volkites
15 normal vets

Getting back to 30K goodness this week and starting with the 90 mk3 marines I've brought with me
Mainly going to be veterans and special weapons squads
So a lot of washing today to get ready

More fast moving assault marines for my death company and more vanguard vets
All armed with a big mix of power weapons as axes and fists, and the more of a punch as well. Thunder hammers with storm shields

Today has been about 4 bikers armed with power weapons
2 power swords & 2 power axes taken from the vanguard veterans and assault marines spure

First real progress of April and it's back into deathwatch for me.
6 vanguard vets all armed with lightening claws and storm shields because at the same points as power swords who would ever take one when you can a lightening claw which has shred

Time for to get ready to go back to work for six weeks and plenty of hobby is coming with me
90 mk3 Alpha legion guys and a whole load of death watch 😀

Game day 1st April 2017

So my Alpha legion took on Magnus's space wizards and it was a tough game as it was blood fued and I took 6 units of infantry
So was always going to be tough
Final score was 17-6 to Thousand Sons
More planning is needed


Having the Praetor roll on biomancy is tough when you are needing 6's to even hurt him
